My sister-in-law Lindsay (if you follow my blog, you know how much I adore her) sent a very special package to the kids last week. She made them “truths”, little booklets with special bible verses and words tucked inside that they can rely on as they get older. They’re beautiful, both in the way they were made and in what they contain. Each one is different and created around each of my little guys, and there are some of my very favorite verses inside, including:
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
“You did not choose me, but I chose you.” John 15:16
“For God did not give you a Spirit of fear, but a Spirit of power, of love, and of self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7
This is directly from her letter:
“…. but maybe someday, down the road, one of those truths will ring loudly in their hearts at a time when it is deeply needed. And the Gospel will grip them – and they will win the battle.”
It brings tears to my eyes to think about how loved my children are by their family. And it could very well bring me to my knees to think about how loved they are by their wonderful Creator, who unimaginably loves them even more than Billy and I do.
